  • Import VAT recovery where it applies

What it solves

Three situations where Chinese brands need EU VAT

You store stock in Europe

Goods in a warehouse in an EU country mean a VAT registration in that country, before the stock arrives.

You sell to consumers in several countries

The One Stop Shop (OSS) lets you report VAT for all EU countries in one return instead of one per country.

You ship parcels directly from China

For consignments up to €150, the Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) lets you charge VAT at checkout so parcels clear customs faster.

What we do

From first check to every return

  1. Check your obligations
Where your stock is, where you sell and through which channels decides where you must register.
  2. Register
VAT numbers, OSS or IOSS, and a fiscal representative where a country requires one.
  3. Set up invoicing
Your webshop and marketplaces charge the right rate and send compliant invoices.
  4. File returns on time
We prepare and file every return and tell you in advance what to pay and when.
  5. Reclaim import VAT
Import VAT paid at the border is reclaimed through your returns where the rules allow it.

What you provide

  • Your business licence and company details
  • Where your stock is stored or shipped from
  • Your sales channels and expected volumes
  • A monthly sales export, or access to your shop data

Questions about EU VAT

Can my Chinese company register for VAT in the EU?

Yes. A company outside the EU can register for VAT in EU countries. Some countries also require a fiscal representative; we tell you where that applies.

What is the difference between OSS and IOSS?

OSS is for sales to consumers from stock already in the EU to other EU countries. IOSS is for goods up to €150 shipped from outside the EU straight to EU consumers.

Do marketplaces handle VAT for me?

In some cases a marketplace collects VAT on your sales, but often you still need your own registration, for example for stock in an EU warehouse. We map out what applies to you.

How long does registration take?

That differs per country and depends on the tax authority. We plan it into your launch timeline so it never holds up your first shipment.
